13 weeks to a well conditioned, stronger, and more capable version of yourself.
What begins tomorrow?
Iron Engine is a 13 week program designed to build strength, conditioning, and a little grit...all to prepare you for your duties on the street or other tactical realms. With our programming we take into consideration your insane schedule by asking only for maybe an hour day, 5-6 days a week- including optional sessions.
We also understand that many individuals in these spaces have a bit of wear and tear on them for their years serving their communities and country. How do I know what it feels like to work nights? I did it. I was one of you. Our programming reflects that experience.
Big Picture
For our strength training we use variations of traditional compound movements, and in the first few weeks we spend a lot of time in the rack pressing and squatting from various depths and angles to avoid the overuse injuries that creep up as guys and girls begin to push more weight than they thought possible. We come back to your main movement during the middle of the program so you can show yourself how much strength you gained over those first 8-9 weeks.
No rack? I provide other options for these movements to accommodate whatever equipment you have available. If you’re still confused I am just a message away on the Trainheroic app. Each session comes with video demonstrations and detailed instructions for exercises, loading, and of course sets/reps. Track your progress right in to app each week so you can see your improvements.
For conditioning sessions I provide at least two structured options for the trainee. As long as you’re working towards the goal of the session, we can find something that works for you; particularly if you have certain preferences or slightly more tailored goals you’re looking to achieve.
We build right up the performance pyramid over these three months where we focus in each 4-5 week phase on two goals that complement one another. Despite this being more of a “concurrent” training system, we don’t try and ride too many horses at once. We spend time building our base strength and aerobic capacity, then we start to work towards anaerobic threshold. By the end we are just maintaining the strength and muscle mass you’ve built and we wreck ourselves a bit on the track or in the weight room with VO2 Max intervals.
As a former cop, I’ll describe what this training will do for you:
1) You’ll be able to quickly jump out of your vehicle.
2) Chase a suspect at a fast but maintainable pace.
3) When you catch the suspect, you’ll still have the engine and strength to fight the individual into custody.
4) All while this is happening, you have the lungs to use the radio- and actually be able to be understood.
This isn’t a substitute for training sound tactics and self defense, but it will give you the fitness to be able to train these endeavors accordingly.
This program is no joke. It is for serious professionals trying to better themselves and be ready to perform when things inevitably go south while you protect your community. This program will take up maybe 5-7 hours a week of your life. That commitment includes the optional sessions.
If one hour during the day is too much for you, I suggest looking for other work.
